Hello everyone! I have been very busy lately and haven’t had time to blog. If you read my previous post, you see that this site is a little different. I have been looking for a change and a better blog. So it has taken me a while, but I am finally getting around to setting this blog up. There will be a lot of changes to come as I try to find the right balance of my crazy and calm. I am really excited about what is in store!
Recently we cheered on our hometown West Central Trojans as they played in the Class 11A State Football Championship! At West Central, there is somewhat of a dynasty of Football Championships. So it was a big deal! We pulled out our Trojan gear and dressed up to watch the game on TV. Here are my munchkins all ready for the game!
My husband and I both went to West Central. I played basketball and volleyball and my husband played football. We met when I was a sophomore and he was a junior. For the most part, I guess you can say the rest is history.
When I am looking for inspiration, I find it in many places! So that means, I get inspired to do a lot! I usually have a little notepad, ok a 5 subject notebook, that I carry around with me to write down ideas. There just isn’t enough time in the day it seems to get all my ideas completed. As a matter of fact, right now I have 3 notebooks and my planner sitting beside me. You think I would be organized with all these lists. Now I need to organize my lists! And I can’t find my pen!
Lately I have been inspired to crochet. It is getting colder out and we are not outside as much. I spend most nights after the kids go to bed relaxing with my husband. This is prime crochet time. The girls have been asking for headbands with flowers, so I have been looking for a pattern to pull from ideas from to make them each a winter headband. Here are some that I have found in Pinterest.
I need to get to the craft store and pick up some yarn!
I am still trying to settle into my new home. It is an old parsonage that was build in 1932. It has great old woodwork and beautiful hard wood floors. I love the inviting character. We just moved a couple months ago, but it seems we still have not quite settled. This weekend our goal is to clean the boxes out of the garage. We should have done that before it was 30 degrees outside, but better now than when it gets colder!
Two weeks ago I found an old bike for sale on a facebook repurpose site. It had all three baskets intact and it was teal! (One of my favorite colors!). So I sent my husband to pick it up. I am trying to decide what to do with it. I REALLY want to hang it on the wall, but it is a legit full size bike and I am not sure how heavy it would be. So, I have been searching Pinterest again to see what I can find. If I don’t hang it on my wall, I will probably set it on the porch or the small patio by the old entrance. Here are a couple examples.
The first one is from Joanna Gaines from Magnolia Farms. She is one of my go-to designers for decor and inspiration. I love everything she does! Check out her blog at here. I have watched her show “Fixer Upper” from the beginning and I love it!
The last thing I want to leave you with today is a little inspiration for your soul. One of my favorite verses to meditate on when I am going through change is Ecclesiastes 3:10.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
“He has made everything beautiful in its time”. I love this! Just because something is right for me now, doesn’t mean it will always be right. And the opposite, just because something is wrong for me right now, doesn’t mean the someday it won’t be beautifully perfect. God has designed us with a restless yearning to search for the perfect world that can only be found with him.
“He has also set eternity in the hearts of men”. We will never be fully satisfied with our life on earth. He has designed it specifically that way so that we set our hearts on eternity with Him.
“Yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end”. God has given us a glimpse of what eternity with Him will be like, but we cannot begin to imagine what beautiful splendor He has in store for us! I believe we have small snapshots of what is to come in our every day lives. The pure joy I get from watching my children. The little moments that almost bring me to tears and fill my heart so much reaffirm my faith that heaven will be full of unfathomable joy.
This week keep looking for those little moments in your life that bring you joy. As you go through change, remember that God will make your life beautiful no matter what season you are in. Let go of what you are holding onto that is no longer beautiful. Embrace the change, and have faith.
